We are a co-educational Catholic Primary School school situated in the heart of Ballygar town in Co. Galway. Our school is under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin. The school has a strong Catholic ethos but welcomes children of all religions and none.
We are a progressive and innovative school and aim to create a happy and secure atmosphere where your child will always be encouraged to do their personal best. Our shared goal is to provide a high quality educational experience for each individual child in our school community. We have a strong focus on improving literacy, numeracy and ICT skills of our pupils through exciting learning experiences.
Our school also has a great sporting tradition, with children of all ages participating in GAA, athletics, swimming and other sports on a regular basis.
Music also plays an important role in our school and we have a wonderful school choir.
Over the last number of years we have also put an increase emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and have been awarded a number of Awards of Excellence for Science and Maths.
We are blessed to have such a fine school, equipped with many resources and facilities (including a computer room, tennis court and 3 playing fields).
We are also extremely well equipped with the latest interactive whiteboards/Activ Panels in every classroom. Pupils learn through the latest technology with iPads being used in every classroom.
Our aim as outlined in our mission statement “is to provide for the academic, physical, emotional, social and spiritual education of all our pupils”.
We hope your child will enjoy their years in Ballygar N.S and We look forward to working with you the parents/guardians to provide the best educational opportunities we can for the children in our school.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and that it gives you an insight into our school.
