Welcome to the website of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál (Ballygar N.S.).

We are a co-educational Catholic Primary School school situated in the heart of Ballygar town in Co. Galway.  Our school is under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin.  The school has a strong Catholic ethos but welcomes children of all religions and none. The school has a great sporting tradition, with children of all ages participating in GAA, athletics, swimming and other sports on a regular basis.  This year we were crowned both the football and hurling Cumann na mBunscol Champions.

We are blessed to have such a fine school, equipped with many resources and facilities (including a computer room, tennis court and 3 playing fields).

This year we are putting an increased emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) in our teaching and learning.  We are hoping to be awarded Award of Excellence for Science and Maths this coming year.
