Our School Crest

Our school crest was designed by the children of Ballygar N.S. in 2017.

The school crest of Ballygar N.S. embodies the core values and beliefs that we espouse in our school community.

The book symbolises teaching and learning.  Through the teachings and learning that take place in our school, our pupils gain wisdom to build a solid foundation for future endeavours.

The paint easel, science conical flask and musical note symbolise just some of the curricular work that we love in our school.   We aim to provide a full, stimulating, creative and holistic education that will stand to the boys and girls throughout their lives.

The circle of friends image of children represents friendships, co-operations and respect which are central to our school life.  It also symbolises community spirit and unity of our school community.

The cross represents our schools catholic ethos.

The football, hurl and sliotar symbolise our love of sport in the school.

The hands symbolise the acceptance and inclusion of all individuals.

The jigsaw pieces joined together symbolise the joining together of all our core values. It also symbolises how we are all individuals but fit together as one.

Although more commonly known as Ballygar N.S. within the community, we felt it would be appropriate to include both Ballygar N.S. and Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál as it is the official name of the school.

The colours navy and sky blue are our school colours.  These colours are special to us as they  identify us from other schools.
